In a beautiful display of friendship and goodwill, Their Majesties The Druk Gyalpo and Gyaltsuen personally received Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand at Paro International Airport, marking the beginning of a historic four-day State Visit to Bhutan.
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, arrived in Bhutan this morning at the invitation of His Majesty The King. Their arrival was met with immense warmth and joy from the Bhutanese people, reflecting the deep and enduring ties shared between the two Kingdoms.
As Their Majesties made their way from Paro, they were greeted by schoolchildren lining the route, waving vibrant flags and offering flowers. Along the way, cultural performances celebrated the rich traditions of Bhutan and honoured the visiting Royals.
Upon reaching Tashichhodzong, Their Majesties were accorded a formal reception, including a Guard of Honour by the armed forces, followed by an Audience with Their Majesties The Druk Gyalpo and Gyaltsuen.
A special highlight of the welcome ceremonies was the programme at Tendrelthang, where His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and Members of the Royal Family joined the festivities. The event featured a Guard of Honour by the DeSuups and Gyalsups and dazzling traditional performances from both Bhutan and Thailand. Dignitaries, students, and members of the Thai community in Bhutan gathered in large numbers to be part of this memorable occasion.
The State Visit of His Majesty The King of Thailand marks a significant milestone, being the first of its kind by a Thai Monarch to Bhutan. It serves to further strengthen the bonds of friendship, mutual respect, and shared aspirations between the two nations.
As Bhutan extends its warm hospitality, the visit promises to deepen the ties that have connected these two Kingdoms in enduring friendship.
